Dr. Karen Sutherland is a Senior Lecturer in Public Relations at the University of the Sunshine Coast in Australia. She is the Program Coordinator of the Bachelor of Communication (Social Media) also holding the curriculum development responsibility for the Social Media Minor and Social Media Major As the author of 'Strategic Social Media Management: Theory and Practice' by Palgrave Macmillan and co-author of 'Public Relations and Strategic Communication' by Oxford University Press, Dr Sutherland's research focuses include social media pedagogy, Work Integrated Learning and graduate employability. Additionally, Karen is Co-Founder and Social Media Specialist at international digital marketing agency, Dharana Digital.
