Dr. Delancy Bennett

Assistant Professor of Marketing

Howard University

Delancy Bennett is an award-winning teacher and researcher. He has a Ph.D in marketing from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MBA in marketing from Wake Forest University. He is currently the assistant professor of marketing at Howard University. Delancy’s past experience includes a role as the senior executive marketing manager with the Carolina Panthers, where he managed multiple premier sponsor accounts such as Gatorade, Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Dairy Management Inc., Time Warner Cable, Outback Steakhouse, and Wendy’s.

Delancy’s research has been published in several top-ranking journals, including Business Horizons, the Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice, Marketing Education Review, and the Journal of Current Issues in Advertising Research. He was also the Zeta Tau Alpha Teacher of the Year for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2009. Delancy’s favorite sport to watch and play is basketball.

Dr. Delancy Bennett is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Howard University. Delancy’s past experience includes employment as the senior executive marketing manager with the Carolina Panthers where he managed multiple premier sponsor accounts including Gatorade, Chrysler Dodge Jeep, Dairy Management Inc., Time Warner Cable, Outback Steakhouse, and Wendy’s. He also gained experience in brand management working on the “all” and Suave brands for Unilever HPC. Delancy’s duties at Unilever included brand strategy, advertising, consumer promotions, public relations, Hispanic marketing, new product introduction, brand portfolio management, and business plan formulation. While in grad school Delancy also worked with the Winston brand on Winston Cup NASCAR marketing programs.

Dr. James "Jim" Blair is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at Eastern Kentucky University. Prior to working in academics, James worked for Reynolds and Reynolds as a Customer Satisfaction Interviewer in the Voice of the Customer Department. Here he got experience interviewing customers, conducting surveys, compiling data, and generating reports. Additionally, he has experience working for a summer collegiate baseball team, the Southern Ohio Copperheads. He spent one season as their Director of Marketing and also interned with the Association of Luxury Suite Directors Conference.
